A decorative flower holder in Art Nouveau style. Inspired by the form of a water lily, combining clear and opalescent lead glass with applied green accents. The central glass dome is surrounded by a ruffled base, from which three curving gilded metal arms extend, each terminating in a flower-form glass cup and buds. Preserved in great antique condition.
J. W. Walsh Ltd. (active in Birmingham from 1850 to 1922) specialized in ornamental glass for domestic interiors. The firm’s Soho and Vesta Glassworks produced decorative lighting and tableware in pressed and blown lead glass, often finished with gilded metal mounts. Around 1900–1915, the company embraced naturalistic motifs aligned with the Art Nouveau style.
