Cabinet of Curiosity (COC) is a one-stop destination for antique lovers, collectors, home owners and everyone interested in unique pieces! Our collection ranges from furniture to home décor and arts such as paintings and sculptures.
We offer a rare assortment that ranges from one-of-a-kind gems from the 18th or 19th centuries to Mid-Century Modern to decorate the 21st Century home. We differ from other sellers in terms of our very eclectic taste, for example, hand crafted Polynesian masks from tribes in the South Pacific Ocean to Chinese screens made in the Ming dynasty to chandeliers which once adorned palaces in Europe. Each item reflects the culture, trends, and the conversations of that time.
Our collection of curiosities is procured specially to bring beautiful collections to our community in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf, but we do ship internationally. Carefully selected from antique sellers, fairs, renowned galleries, and auction houses from around the world. The one-of-a-kind pieces are carefully chosen for their provenance, quality, aesthetics, and story behind them. COC global buyers team ensures the pieces are in good condition as possible, however, some minor defects and scratches are visible because of age and use.
Bringing the treasures into your home adds character and value to build your own collection or might I say “Cabinet of Curiosities”. Our name – Cabinet of Curiosity – spurs the imagination of lots of fascinating treasures from around the world. In this context, cabinet originally referred to a room – a whole room full of delightful pieces from a collector. Curiosities originally described the objects included as belonging to natural history, geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art (including cabinet paintings), and antiquities.
The classic cabinet of curiosities emerged in the sixteenth century, although more rudimentary collections had existed earlier. In addition to the most famous and best-documented cabinets of rulers and aristocrats, members of the merchant class and early practitioners of science in Europe formed collections that were precursors to museums.
Any object from COC adds a special touch to your home, whether it is furnished in classical or modern interior style. Explore our collection on our website or visit our new showroom in Dubai!
