A wall-mounted ozonator and perfume diffuser in pierced gilt brass, with floral detailing and twisted supports enclosing a central glass chamber and braided cotton wick. Designed to purify or scent indoor air, the piece is fitted with a suspension hook for wall display.
Marked with maker’s address and patent notice: "Ozonateur Brevete S.G.D.G., 9 Rue de la Chaussee d’Antin, Paris". Preserved in great antique condition.
Ozonators were introduced in the late 19th century as domestic hygiene devices. Used in pharmacies and private interiors, they diffused ozone or aromatic vapors through heated air, anticipating modern interest in air purification and therapeutic scent.
