Lorant Chovan (1913-2007) was a Hungarian painter known primarily for portraiture. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest in 1941 and studied under Gyula Rudnay. He worked in Hungary, lived in London in the mid 1960s, and later settled in Oakland California. His works are held in public collections including the Kiscelli Museum and the Petofi Literary Museum.
