A set of twelve Portuguese Rococo-style chairs comprising a pair of mid-18th-century armchairs and ten matching side chairs of later date. The carved wood frames retain a dark painted finish with parcel-gilt rocaille, foliate, shell, and floral decoration. The armchairs have shaped upholstered backs, open arms, serpentine seat rails, and cabriole legs, while the side chairs are designed with tall upholstered backs and similarly carved and gilt frames. Newly. upholstered with Zebra pattern viscose silk. Preserved in great antique condition.
