A Regency bookcase dating to the early 19th century, constructed in wood with black japanned and gilt decoration. The upper section is fitted with a pair of glazed doors with geometric glazing bars, opening to a red-lined interior with adjustable shelves. The lower cupboard is enclosed by a single decorated door. The Cabinet exterior is richly ornamented with gilt chinoiserie figures, pagodas, floral borders, geometric motifs, and architectural detailing. The projecting cornice is surmounted by finials and a pierced gallery, with further figural decoration to the sloping upper panels. Preserved in great antique condition.
