Art Deco serving bowl by the renowned artist Jean Cocteau (French, 1898-1963). The bowed circular frame, raised on a gilded spreading circular base reveals three serving tiers. The opposing outside panels are decorated with hand-painted stylized androgynous figure portraits and 8-pointed stars.
The model is hallmarked “PAT. NO. 7205 APP. 729;730 / TRIPLE LEVEL SERVER”. Signed on both sides "Jean Cocteau".
