About

Pair of French bronze candlesticks, with silvered and gilt parts. The design features standing female herm figures in classical drapery, each supporting a basket-form candle nozzle. Raised on stepped square bases in the Neoclassical taste, with engraved and applied decorative details throughout. Preserved in great antique condition, with minor patina and wear consistent with age. Unsigned.
