A French Louis XV-style bureau plat, ebonised and completed with gilt-bronze ormolu mounts. The shaped apron houses three drawers to one side, with corresponding faux drawers to the reverse, making the desk suitable for placement in the centre of a room. The mounts include scrolling foliage to the apron, satyr masks on the cabriole legs, and sabots in the form of cloven hooves. The top is fitted with its original gilt-tooled leather writing surface, framed by a moulded bronze edge.
Three original keys are included. Minor surface wear and light age-related marks; overall in great antique condition.
