About

A large Austrian painted terracotta figure of a man carrying two pottery vessels, dressed in flowing robes and standing on a naturalistic base. The figure is modelled with fine detail to the drapery and expression, reminiscent of the Goldscheider style. The base bears a signature, possibly “Cheue?” – text unclear, and the reverse is impressed with marks 1876 16 47.
