Set of plaster intaglios framed under glass in a hexagonal frame covered with blue marbled ‘Spanish wave’ paper. Each cameo is surmounted in brass and depicts Greco-Roman personalities. The large round intaglio in the center depicts a mythological scene of Oedipus solving the Sphinx riddle in Thebes.

Plaster Intaglios from the 19th Century are miniature souvenirs carried back by travelers on Grand Tours.
