Lewis Baumer (British, 1870–1963) was an illustrator and cartoonist associated with Punch magazine, where he contributed regularly from the late 1890s into the 1930s. He trained at the St John’s Wood Art School and the Royal Academy Schools. Baumer produced illustrations for a range of British periodicals, including The Sketch and The Tatler, and provided artwork for books and commercial commissions. His career encompassed portraiture, black-and-white illustration, and early 20th-century magazine graphics.
