A figural table bell cast in the form of a tortoise, with a black-enamelled bronze body inlaid in gold with architectural decoration. The domed shell functions as the bell housing, with a concealed striker mechanism and a spring-loaded tail acting as the ringer. The surface is finely detailed in the distinctive Toledo BOJ style, with dense patterning in the traditional Spanish damascene technique. Marked at the base: "BOJ Pat."
