Pair of miniature Orientalist watercolor paintings by Hans Jacob Hansen R.S.W. (1853-1947) – a Scottish painter of Danish origin. Titled "The Snake Charmers" and "Market in Tangiers" they are distinctive compositions, repeated by the artist in various sizes. Both paintings are mounted in giltwood frames and signed on the recto "Hans Hansen" (lower left) and inscribed on the verso. Newly framed.

Hans Hansen was renowned for his depictions of the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, and Russia. Large part of his works housed in the collection of the Glasgow Art Gallery. He earned a Silver Medals at the Salzburg International Exhibition in the Royal Scottish Academy, and became a member of the Royal Scottish Watercolour Society in 1906.
