Fine entomology collectible, a composition of three Giant Malaysian Leaf insects (Lat. Phyllium Giganteum) under a glass dome on a wooden base. These species, found most abundantly in the west Malaysian tropics, were first described by Hausleithner in 1984 and placed in the genus Pulchriphyllium since 2021, as the largest of this kind.
Entomology collections became popular in the 16th and 17th centuries as part of the Renaissance curiosity cabinets. Collectors were fascinated by the diversity and beauty of insects, often viewing them as miniature works of art.
