About

Ceramic planter by French maker Lebeuf Milliet, featuring whimsical  hand-painted scenes in Rococo style after composition by  Francois Boucher (1703–1770) "Cupids at play" commonly known as "Procession of putti with a billy goat." Completed with red rims on the top and the base. The hallmark "L.M. et Cie" along with an embossed letter "D" is visible on the base bottom. Preserved in great antie condition, minor wear on the glaze, felt applied to the base.

Lebeuf, Milliet et Cie operated between 1840 and 1876 in France. The company was part of the Creil-Montereau faience and porcelain production, known for high-quality earthenware and decorative ceramics. In 1876, the firm transitioned to Hippolyte Boulenger & Cie, which continued the Montereau ceramics tradition.
