Spanish maiolica circular box and cover dated 1860, decorated in blue, ochre, and manganese with radiating floral and swag motifs. The cover and body are inscribed “PEDRO BUSTILLO AN(~)O DE 1860”, indicating that the piece was made as a commemorative or personalised object. Preserved in good antique condition, occasional (non-structural) chips on the surface.
The inscribtion might be refferring 19th-century Spanish military officer named Pedro Bustillo/Bustillos, recorded as a lieutenant colonel and former military governor of the fortress of San Felices de los Gallegos.
