About

An Italian painted and parcel-gilt chest of drawers, fitted with three long drawers. The front and sides are enriched with applied and carved gilt decoration of scrolling foliage, garlands, and trophies, set against a cream-painted ground. The drawers are arranged in a stepped façade, with shaped apron and bracket supports.

The piece has undergone later restorations but preserves its decorative Florentine character. Minor surface wear and rubbing to the paint and gilding; overall structurally sound.
