A set of 15 lithography plates from the "Description de l'Egypte" book. Features detailed and precise drawings of an Egyptian landscapes, birds, portraits of people and their arts and crafts domains.
"The Description de l'Egypte", published from 1809 to 1829, aimed to comprehensively catalog ancient and modern Egypt. It involved 160 scholars and scientists, known as the savants, who joined Napoleon Bonaparte's expedition. With contributions from 2000 artists and technicians, including 400 engravers, it became the world's largest published work of its time.
