A fine classical sculpture of a seated Roman Centurion in patinated bronze and marble, set on a later granite base. The figure is depicted in a relaxed pose, with his feet resting on a stepped base. His left arm, holding a sword, rests on his helmet, while his right hand is raised in a gesture. Similar compositions often feature a spear, which this figure could possibly hold, though it is not included. Very good antique condition, with signs of natural bronze patina.
