Pair of silvered bronze vases with Janus heads on holders, produced by cast after Claude Ballin (1661–1754). The body and rims are decorated with acorns and oak leaves under a Greek Key frieze.
This vases design is a copy of the original piece that, generally believed, was cast by Duval after a design by Claude Ballin, goldsmith to Louis XIV. It is one of the 13 models that separate Parterre du Nord and Parterre d'Eau in Versailles.
