About

Impressive silver plate jugs in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) style by prominent German maker WMF. Featuring detailed bas reliefs with nymphs and satyr in a vine garden. The lids are completed with figure of cherub as finials.

Silver marks on the feet bottom – "WMFB" are indicating tin-containing alloy used for silvering (so-called Britannia metal) along with "I/O" – normal layer thikness, and "as" – antique silver finish (artificially darkened) marks. One of the jugs has a hammered inscription on the base "C.H.E. 1911" – possibly a signature of the owner.
