About

Gold vase with "Grigio Carnico" marble  plinth. This vase is a copy of the original piece that, generally believed, was cast by Duval after a design by Claude Ballin, goldsmith to Louis XIV. It is one of the 13 models that separate Parterre du Nord and Parterre d'Eau in Versailles. Cast with acorns and oak leaves under a Greek Key frieze with Janus-head handles.
