Monumental figural mantel clock featuring a large patinated seated figure of Hannibal among the ruins of Carthage. His sword and helmet rest on the square clock case. At his feet, there are some architectural fragments, and a stone with a chiseled horse head and inscription: “Carthage”. The case rests on a stepped sienna marble base, the lower section is decorated with patinated bronze acanthus molding and oblong marble plinth, standing on four block feet. The bronze work is of extraordinary quality. Dial is signed “Ledure Bronzier à Paris / Hemon Hr”.
