Pastel on paper painting depicts a sunset landscape of the Nile, at the place called Nilometer, at Rodah Island, Cairo. Signed on the lower right in Arabic and English: "M.Sabry 1982" 

Born in 1917, the prominent artist Mohammed Sabry is considered a leading figure in 20th-century Egyptian Modern Art and is part of the second generation of the Egyptian Art Movement. With over 75 years of experience, Sabry has produced numerous oil and pastel paintings, including two notable political works: one featuring former leader Gamal Abdel Nasser's Peace speech at the United Nations Organization and another depicting the "Signing of Cairo Agreement" in 1970, featuring Abdel Nasser and a group of Arab leaders. The artist spent a few years in Spain during the 1950s and 1960s, during which time he created some of his best works.
