Set of plaster intaglios framed under glass in a hexagonal frame covered with blue-and-brown marbled ‘Spanish wave’ paper. Each cameo is surmounted in brass and depicts Greco-Roman personalities and mythological scenes.

At the center, 5 rectangular intaglios depict a battle of Centaurs and chariot riders. They are surrounded by oval cameos of philosophers and heroes.

Plaster Intaglios from the 19th Century are miniature souvenirs carried back by travelers on Grand Tours.
