M. Fulgence Fresnel, a renowned French orientalist, resided for several years in Egypt, where he collected documents related to the history of the Arabs before Islamism. He published several excerpts from Arab poets prior to Muhammad. This book depicts both a picture of the customs of the Arab tribes and an account of the political situation in the 19th Century.
Published by Theophil Barrois père et B. Duprat, Paris, in 1836.
