Rare set of an oversized mirror and a console in Art Deco style. The mirror is of curved shape, with a wide rose-gold (orange) mirrored crystal frame, decorated with engraved star pattern. On the top, the mirror is adorned with colored glass panel with a gilt cameo of a shell in the center. Completed with a hammered brass panel on the bottom, is complemented by an incorporated console – the scroll-shaped brass frame with a brown glass table top. The console is detachable, allowing the mirror and console to be used together or separately.
The piece is not signed, however it is a well known design by Pier Luigi Colli for Cristal Arte, Torino, Italy. Pier Luigi Colli (1895–1968) was a master of Italian Art Deco furniture design. He trained in Paris before leading his Torino-based workshop, and collaborated with Cristal Arte (a brand founded in Turin in 1944) on producing high-quality decorative mirrors, furniture, and glasswork.
