About

"Don't Feed The Artist" is a self-portrait painted by Mazen Kerbaj at the eponymous exhibition during the Abu Dhabi Art Fair in 2012. In this project, the artist was locked inside a glass cage, creating a new collection of drawings and paintings live and in real-time, while also being the subject of the art performance.

Mazen Kerbaj, born in Beirut in 1975, is a Lebanese comics author, visual artist, and musician who is known for pushing the boundaries of the trumpet in the Lebanese free improvisation and experimental music scene. He has authored 15 books translated into more than ten languages and his work has been shown in galleries, museums, and art fairs worldwide.
