A heavy gilt wrought iron pedestal, with a round white marble tabletop. The base is decorated with 3 spiral swirls, adorned with acanthus and portrait cameos. Marked on the base "Fonderies Du Val D'Osne / 58 Bo Voltaire. Paris"

Jean Pierre Andre Victor, the developer of the cast iron ornamentation method, created the Val Osne firm in 1835.
